The Mail Discovery feature of Exchange Hosted Archive allows you to search all the mail in the archive at one time. This can only be done by the administrator with the correct rights. Below is the procedure to do this.

  1. Logon to Microsoft Forefront Online Prection Service for Exchange

  2. On the top right hand of the screen click on the drop arrow next to your user name and select Mail Archive.

  3.  Click on the Dicovery Tab.

  4. On the right part fo the screen select Search.

  5.  The search dialogue will appear. Here you can narrow your search to the criteria that you want to search for. For example in the search below we will search for all mail between and including January 1st, 2011 until January 31st, 2011. I have left the rest of the field clear so that no other restrictions are placed on our search. Once you are done click on Search

  6. Depending on the criteria your search results will take some time.

  7. When your results are ready tehy will display on the center pane.

  8.  Now that your search has run select the message that you want to see and right click on it. From the pop-up menu select Open.

  9.  This will open a new windows with the message details.

  10.  When you are done with the Discovery logout of Exchange Hosted Archive service
